The Millennium Campaign

The Millennium Campaign is an initiative of the United Nations. It aims to inform, inspire and encourage grassroots involvement and action for the realization of the Millennium Development Goals. It supports citizens’ efforts to hold their government to account for the Millennium promise.

The Goals (MDGs)

* Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
* Achieve universal primary education
* Promote gender equality and empower women
* Reduce child mortality
* Improve maternal health
* Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
* Ensure environmental sustainability
* Develop a global partnership for development
