About 500 visas will be granted to Vietnamese students to study in Canada by the end of 2008, a 90 percent year-on-year increase, the Canadian diplomatic mission reported.
Visa processing procedures have been made faster and more transparent to encourage more Vietnamese students to select Canada as their study destination, according to Bill Johnston, Canadian Consul General in Sài Gòn.
Last year, the Canadian government, in cooperation with the Canadian Education Center in Sài Gòn, launched a national education campaign in Việt Nam to increase the profile of Canadian education institutions.
