Three months after Israel’s military operation, people in the Gaza Strip still struggle to exist. Tens of thousands have had their homes wrecked. Aid has been pledged, but without a courageous peace process, no meaningful reconstruction can take place.

"We were taken by surprise!" says the owner of this destroyed house. “The house was shelled and caught fire. It was a miracle to get out alive with my family. Everything we had is gone - the house, the furniture, the car, the business… I am not sure that I will live long enough to rebuild what was destroyed..."
